This animated video contains the largest-ever 3D map of the universe. It includes more than 400,000 galaxies –and each galaxy is hundreds of thousand of light years side-to-side.

The map was created by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey III, an association of two dozen universtities from around the world. 

To piece together this unprecedented look at our universe, it was used a massive wide-angle telescope at New New Mexico's Apache Point Observatory.
